As a busy self-employed Mum my time is very precious and I am approaching an age where I very definitely need to take care of my health and general wellbeing. I spent most of my younger years avoiding the gym, thinking that the odd aerobics class here and there was all that I needed to keep strong and fit and healthy. Now I’m a grown up I teach my kids that constancy is everything. The choice of classes available to me now at Barons in immense, and varied. While I exercise regularly, I do love to mix things up with my choice of class, from Spinning to Yoga, and Pilates to Step with the odd boot camp style hit session thrown in for good measure. I suspect the fact that I work odd hours means I catch such a variety of classes and that keeps things fresh for me. Daily movement is a massive part of my lifestyle nowadays and classes help me achieve this. I have never felt intimidated in the gym at Barons, something that I know and understand affects a lot of women but it’s honestly not something that I’ve ever felt here. For every strong guy chucking around 50kg kettles or deadlifting 200kg, there’s a graceful lady doing perfect handstands on the soft mats….. both enjoying their own space and achievements equally.
